Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills(IOLS)

“This hands-on program gives adult leaders a practical introduction to the patrol method of a Scout-led troop by teaching many of the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors.”

Come and join us for IOLS training at Breaks Interstate Park campground D

 

Items to bring:

  • Tent
  • Sleeping Pad
  • Sleeping Bag
  • Scouts BSA Handbook
  • Rain Gear
  • Water Bottle
  • Flashlight
  • Map/Compass
  • Clothing for the Season (to be comfortable in the outdoors)
  • Eating/Mess Kit
  • Notebook or Paper
  • Pen or Pencil
  • Camp Chair (for comfort, but there will be picnic tables...1st come, 1st serve)

For this course, you will set up camp as a patrol and sleep in a tent you pitch(provided by yourself) Saturday night. Saturday, you will prepare and eat three meals (provided by the course) with your patrol, and training will conclude on Sunday afternoon.
