OA Summer Ordeals 2025

Waupecan Lodge Summer Ordeals will be held in two different sessions either Friday-Saturday or Saturday-Sunday.
Candidate Schedule
Ordeal Session #1
Friday, August 15th
7:00-8:00 PM: Check-in for session #1
8:00-8:30 PM: Parent Presentation
7:45-8:45 PM: Icebreakers / organize the groups
9:00 PM: Pre-O Ceremony
Saturday, August 16th
(Times are flexible)
6:00 AM: Ordeal Breakfast
6:30 AM: Ordeal Projects Begin
7:00 AM: Volunteer Breakfast
11:30 AM: Ordeal Lunch
12:00 PM: Ordeal Projects Begin
3:30 PM: Candidates can begin to clean up and get ready for Ordeal Ceremony
(Candidates can shower in a timely manner during this time. Limited shower time.)
3:45 PM: Candidates are led to the Council Firebowl
4:00 PM: Ordeal Ceremony, Council Firebowl
5:30 PM: Dinner followed by Orientation
6:00/6:30 PM: Parent Pickup

Ordeal Weekend Packing List
What to wear:
Work clothes (assume your clothes may become torn, dirty, or otherwise ruined!)
Sturdy footwear (close toed)
Jacket for cold weather
Required to bring:
Scout medical form -- Parts A and B required
Medications (if applicable) – document on medical form and inform staff at check-in
Essential gear:
Sleeping bag or bedroll (rated for the weather – you’ll be camping outside!)
Waterproof ground cover/tarp
Rain gear
Basic toiletries (including towel)
Pocket knife
Work gloves
Billed or brimmed hat for sun protection
Canteen or water bottle
Insect repellent/sunscreen
Extra socks
Flashlight
Scout Uniform (pack separately, do not wear)
Spending money for the OA Trading Post (optional)
Not suggested to bring/do not bring:
Tote bin
Important items (jewelry, watches, expensive items, ect.)
Tent
earbuds/headphones
