Program Overview: Get ready for an action-packed weekend of adventure, celebration, and skill-building at the Venturing Fall Camporee! This program is designed to empower older Scouts to embrace their roles as leaders while offering younger Scouts a glimpse into the exciting world of Venturing. From thrilling challenges on the COPE course to exploring the great outdoors, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Friday, October 13
Venturing's 25th Birthday Bash
Kick off the weekend with a festive birthday party to celebrate Venturing's 25th anniversary. Also covers requirement #2 for the Venturing 25th Anniversary Award.
Patch Trading
Enjoy games (please bring a board game), music, and camaraderie as you honor the legacy and future of Venturing.
Saturday, October 14
Breakfast and lunch are in your campsite (bring your own meal)
COPE Course Adventure
Scouts gear up for an exhilarating experience on the COPE course.
Three hours of climbing and conquering high ropes challenges to build confidence and teamwork.
Territory Venturing Officers Orientation (TVOO)
The National Service Territory hosts TVOO sessions (1.5-2 hours each) that provide valuable insights into unit officer roles, council VOA officer responsibilities, and an introduction to the Territory VOA.
Equip Scouts with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in leadership positions.
Requirement #6 (youth) or #5 (adults) for the Venturing 25th Anniversary Award
Fishing, Cooking, & Ranger Award Progress
· Scouts head to the dam for a fishing expedition, allowing them to fulfill part of requirement #15 of the Ranger Award.
· Learn fishing techniques, ethical angling practices, and water safety.
· Master the art of cleaning and cooking fish with hands-on workshops.
Adventure Stations: Short, Interactive Sessions
· Rocket Launching: Launch water-propelled rockets into the sky for a thrilling and educational experience.
· Baking Soda and Vinegar Rockets: Create and launch small rockets using baking soda and vinegar reactions.
· Paracord Bracelet Making: Craft stylish and functional bracelets using Paracord, fostering creativity, knot tying skills, and preparedness.
Saturday Dinner is a potluck. Bring a full dutch oven to cook your favorite meal. Please provide 1 dutch oven per 5 people your unit brings and 1 dutch oven for dessert for 8 people. We will cook outside the dining hall and eat together inside. Meals will be shared potluck.
