2023 Wilderness First Aid Spring Session

Wilderness First Aid is a sixteen hour course that combines classroom instruction, skills practice and role-playing scenarios to teach the response steps and treatment of injuries and illnesses in a delayed-help situation. Payment of the course fee is not a guarantee of certification.
Course certification and successful completion of the course requires that the participant attend all sessions, participate in all skill sessions and activities, demonstrate competency in all observable skills, and complete the scenario.
In addition to the 16hrs Wilderness First Aid course all participants will be certified in CPR/AED. CPR/AED is a requirement of the Wilderness First Aid course.
The course will be a three day event starting at 6pm Friday night, and 8a on both Saturday and Sunday morning. Light snacks and refreshments along with Saturdays breakfast, lunch, dinner, Sunday breakfast & lunch will be provided. A campsite will be available for overnight accommodations.
During classroom instruction all social distancing and personal protection requirements will be followed. In this course close and direct physical contact with others is required. Disposable glove, masks and face shields will be provided for these activities.
Course Pre-requisites: Minimum age 14**, a strong working knowledge of basic first aid
**Course content is above basic first aid skills, being comfortable and familiar with BSA First Aid requirements and the First Aid Merit Badge book is required. Basic first Aid is not covered in this course.
When: April 14th - 16th
Where: Rainbow Council Scout Reservation. Training begins at 6 pm
