BSA Leave No Trace 101

This introduction to Leave No Trace is for ALL Scouts BSA, Venturers, and adult volunteers (including Cub Scout adult volunteers) who use the outdoors. It is the minimum recommended training for ALL adults and older scouts who will be teaching Leave No Trace in their troops and/or signing off on the 2nd Class, 1 st Class, or Merit Badge Leave No Trace requirements.

In this 4-hour course, you’ll learn:
• Knowledge of Leave No Trace and its seven principles
• Understanding the importance of Leave No Trace in outdoor activities
• Hands-on practice putting Leave No Trace principles into action
• Where to locate additional Leave No Trace resources and opportunities for
further Leave No Trace training.

Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a Leave No Trace ethics
reference card, a training card, and the course is entered in their official Council/BSA
training record.

Cost: $5.00 per person for facility rental and course materials
