Come join us for a whole new fossil hunt experience! We will not be going on a dig this year but will be searching for and identifying fossils from the Mazon River. These fossils were found on RSR property and are a sight to see! Scouts will learn about the rich history found along the Mazon River from millions of years ago and learn about how fossils formed. Careers and hobbies that relate to fossils will also be discussed.

How we plan to keep everyone safe: Three sessions are available and are limited to 25 scouts and one parent. For safety reasons siblings will not be allowed to attend the event unless they are a paid participant. They can stay outside of the dining hall area with a parent or guardian. One parent of Lion and Tiger parents must attend with their scout. Wolf, Bear and Webelo parents may choose to stay outside of the dining hall or drop off their scout with proper paper work.

All people attending should bring a mask and use the hand sanitizer provided for the event. No food or drink will be provided during the event. Attendees can bring their own water bottle but food cannot be consumed in the dining hall during this event. Each scout will get their own table and chair with work space and mini fossil dig. Each space will be cleaned with bleach solution before each session. Bathrooms will also be sanitized between sessions.
