2026 OA Seattle NLS/DYLC

The National Leadership Seminar (NLS) is a weekend conference teaching the skills and attributes of leadership. It is intended primarily to enhance the leadership skills of the Order of the Arrow’s key youth and adult members as they seek to improve their services to Scouting America and the greater community. The weekend format is designed to complement the longer, more detailed Wood Badge and National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) Programs. Near the end of the seminar, learners make a contract with themselves to apply the skills studied in the seminar on projects in their lodge, council, and community.
The Developing Youth Leadership Conference (DYLC) is a weekend conference for adult volunteers focusing on the skills, tools, and attributes of effective advisers. It is intended primarily to enhance an adviser’s knowledge of and connectivity with resources, while emphasizing personal skills that are essential to the development of effective youth leadership and ultimately the OA’s service to the council. DYLC is for Scouters 21+ with some advising experience. We have found that some of the younger Scouters/Advisers (21-25) do not always have the experience or context to fully appreciate the DYLC curriculum.
The lodge believes every lodge or chapter leader should have the opportunity to attend NLS. To help, the lodge will be providing a significant scholarship to those Arrowman who attend – both youth and adults!
Youth will only pay $50 and adults $100 to attend this course (normally, $275).
Lodge members who wish to attend NLS or DYLC must get approval from the lodge adviser first, pay their discounted fee on this registration, and then register at https://registration.oa-scouting.org/Event/1314.
