Chainsaw training at Camp Baker

January 10-11, 2026

Saturday 8:30-5:00 classroom training

Sunday 8:00-12:00 field training in camp

Meals provided, Saturday lunch and Sunday breakfast, plus snacks. 

You are responsible for your other meals and your own water bottle.

Cost: $40.  

Must be 21 years of age or older 

No prior experience is necessary.

If you do have your own saw and safety gear, please bring it 

Upon completing the course, you will receive a certificate of training valid for 5 years.

May arrive and stay in camp Friday evening

My name is Bryan Trumbull.  I am the owner of KBT Land and Tree Services, along with my son Kainoa.  I am a 4th-generation Oregonian who is drawn to the wild beauty and lush forests here in the northwest.  I am a tree climber with 17 years of experience in the arboriculture industry, running chainsaws in various applications.  I'm excited to share my years of experience in chainsaw use, maintenance, and most of all, safety, with the class this winter.

Rangers' note:  We have hired Bryan multiple times over the past year to come and limb danger branches, cut danger trees, help us identify potential hazards, give us advice, etc.  He is very professional, thorough, kind, and absolutely has the best interests of the camp in mind. We are super excited that he has agreed to come to camp and provide this training, along with his son Kainoa.
