Camp Connected Cub Camp
Garden State Council's Camp Connected is pleased to announce:
"Forward to the Past," an interactive, virtual, adventure for Cub Scouts!
For each week of day camp, jump aboard our Cub Scout time machine and travel to the past, present, and future.
Who knows where in time we will land?
Join us on our virtual voyage as we experience dinosaurs, Vikings, Medieval times, frontier America, and space -- the final frontier! We will rely on our Scout Skills, STEM, and all the fun stuff you expect at camp while having an out-of-this world experience at home.
Scout Skill Trail Differentiation
Our Scout Skills class offers two tracks, split by Cub Rank. Tigers and Wolves will get a lesson relevant to their track, while Bears through AOL will get a more advanced track.
Partner Up for Fun
Parent participation will help make these camp mornings even more fun. We designed our program sessions to be brief and interactive, with breaks in between. Help your Cub navigate each morning's activities, and have a ton of fun together! (Note: Lions and Tigers must have an adult partner for Scouting activities.)
Camper Kits
Each registered Cub Scout will receive a Kit in the mail with a camp t-shirt and bag, plus a lot of supplies they will need during camp (the full list of provided supplies is available in the Leader/Parent Guide, attached to this page as a PDF). (T-shirt sizes collected at registration.) A patch and certificate will be mailed separately later in the summer. Additional supplies: Campers will need a few household items on hand as well:
Home Supplies:
- empty water bottle (for Viking boat)
- scissors
- markers/crayons/pencils
- aluminum foil
- apple (and a parent who will cut it in half)
- plastic bottle cap (like from a milk jug)
- food coloring
- 1 paper towel
- baking soda
- vinegar
- small shovel
- Scotch tape for paper lantern
- small bowl of water
Scouting Staples
Each camp day is framed by a flag ceremony and announcements, just like we always do! This provides structure to our day and a connection to their Scouting experience. We will also close camp on Friday with a virtual campfire program! Cub Scout rank requirements and special awards addressed during camp are outlined in the Leaders/Parents Guide, attached to this page as a PDF.
All the Time
A sample schedule for each day is attached as a PDF, called "Class Catalog". It shows how we plan to divide our time, and will be the same for each session of camp.
So, register today for 1, 2, or 3 weeks of FUN
as we take your Cub Scout
