The Best of the Best Pinewood Derby Racers in Crossroads District Will Race at the Deptford Mall on April 21st!

Car Impound / Weigh In: There will be two dates for car impoud and weigh-in. Choose the one that works for you.

NO CARS WILL BE ACCEPTED ON RACE DAY.

April 14, Noon-3pm, Mantua United Methodist Church

April 18, 6-8pm, Harry E. Williams Jr. Senior Center in Runnemede

The Main Race Event: April 21st at Noon, Deptford Mall-Center Court

>> Each Crossroads District Pack may enter up to six racers.

>> Each entered Pinewood Derby car must be submitted to Car Impound / Weigh In.

>> Event cost is $5 per Car. Friends and family are encouraged to attend the Main Race Day Event for no charge.

>> Register each Scout by Pack and Rank during registration.

>> At the Main Raceday Event, Racers arrive at 12 noon, races begin at 12:15 pm.

District Pinewood Derby Rules

All cars must pass the following inspection to qualify for the race:

1. Car width shall not exceed 2-3/4 inches.

2. Car length shall not exceed 7 inches.

3. Weight shall not exceed 5 ounces.

4. Axles, wheels, and body shall be from the materials provided in the kit. Additional wheels can be purchased separately but must be BSA-branded wheels.

5. Wheel bearings, washers, and bushings are prohibited.

6. No lubricating oil may be used. Axles may be lubricated with powdered graphite or silicone.

7. The car shall not ride on any kind of spring.

8. The car must be free-wheeling, with no starting devices.

9. No loose materials of any kind are allowed in the car.

Additional District Regulations

All 4 wheels of the car must touch the track.

No extensions on the front of the car are allowed.

Cars are surrendered to the Crossroads District Pinewood Committee at weigh-in/registration. Cars will be returned to the Scout’s parents after the race.

Any adjustments to vehicles must be made prior to weigh-in/registration.

Eligibility

Each Pack may submit up to 6 cars to the race.

The Pack leadership may determine how to choose their top 6.
