Introduction to Leadership Skills Training

This course is only intended for those scouts who will be attending National Youth Leadership Training this August at Pine Hill Scout Reservation who have not already completed an Introduction to Leadership Skills course. You can still register for National Youth Leadership Training at this link scoutingevent.com/690-NYLT.
Location: Pine Hill Scout Reservation, Lekau Lodge

The purpose of the ILS course is to teach Scouts with leadership positions about their new roles and how to achieve success most effectively in that role. The day-long training includes group activities, completion of active assignments, and games!
Completion of this course is a prerequisite to taking advanced youth leadership training, including National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT). Garden State Council's next NYLT course is scheduled for August 2026.
Course cost: $10.00. Participants should bring their own water bottle, note-taking materials, and a light snack (if desired).
When registering, the Registration Contact should always be an adult. Youth Participants are asked to identify as one of the following:
Scouts BSA Youth
Venturing Youth
Sea Scouting Youth
This will help the course guides divide up the group for those modules with content specific to each Scouting program.
Adult leaders who are unfamiliar with this training are invited to attend and observe so you can administer this training to your unit in the future.
