Location: WBSR / 9:00am - 3:00pm

Please bring your own lunch, snacks may be purchased in the Trading Post

We're finalizing the plans for this WOW, but below is an overview of typical programs that we offer.

Wallwood Outdoor Weekend – Program Overview 

The Theme for the May 2023 WOW is Aquatics!

Bring your swimsuits, towels and a change of clothes!

  • Camp activities include: Slip-n-Slide kickball, Recycled Raingutter Regala (Not BSA boats, bring your empty 2 liter bottles), and maybe Water Rockets!

  • Pool activities include: BSASwim Test and swimming.

  • Waterfront may activities include: Canoeing, Kayaking, Rowing, and Fishing.

The Wallwood Outdoor Weekend may typically consists of 3-6 Program Areas that your family can explore and participate in. 

  • Shooting Sports such as BB guns for Cub Scouts, and Rifle/Shotgun for ScoutsBSA and Venturing. 
  • Aquatics such as activites in the Pool (in warmer weather) and/or the Waterfront.  Pool activities include: Swim Test, swimming and diving board for fun.  Waterfront may activities include: Canoeing, Kayaking, Rowing, and Fishing.  Waterfront FUN!  
  • 5-Mile Trail is available for Hiking or Biking!  Want to get lost in the woods – we can help you!  5-miles sound too long?We will have turn out loops available to make your hike enjoyable at 2-Miles and 3-Miles.  Participants must provide their own bikes and Helmets. 
  • Scavenger Hunts to locate items or points of interest around our 600 acre property for fun and prizes.

Make sure to complete the Firearms Permission Form attached on this page and bring it with you - Must be complete for all shooters and signed by a parent!

A parent/adult partner must accompany Cub Scouts in all activities and must be in the canoe during the aquatics activities, when offered.

Units may organize an overnight camping element by following the unit camping procedures established for Wallwood and contacting Dennis Whisenant at to make the arrangements
