Swimming Merit Badge Opportunity

To be held at the YMCA in Bainbridge, GA on Saturday, May 11th, from 8:30am to 12:30pm.

Snacks will be provided. Everyone should bring their own water bottles.

Parents:

• Please print and fill out the Swimming Form and YMCA Release Form that are attached to this page and have it ready to turn in at the event.
• MJ will be coaching adults at 12:30pm how to teach their youth or scouts how to break down swimming strokes and make them fun!
• There will be a Zoom call May 2nd, at 7pm ahead of time for parents.

• If you can assist in the water because you have swimming instruction skills please come prepared to get wet.  We will need dry land volunteers with scout management and paperwork management.

The Swimming Merit Badge can be completed in as little as 4 hours if the scout knows how to swim with good form and proper stroke technique.  Some scouts that are struggling with some of the skills will need more than that time. In the fall we can revisit with scouts who require more time.  We will have a follow up Saturday at Wallwood Scout Reservation as needed, date to be determined in August.

Bring the swimming form for us to complete the day of to be turned in to your unit after its filled out.
