LHC USA Archery Level I Instructor Course

Those wishing to run Troop and Venture Unit archery activities and to become an Archery Merit Badge Counselor will need to complete the USA Archery Level I Instructor Certification or above

First, the participant must register on-line with USA Archery and successfully complete the Level I ON-LINE Course. The class is $40. See instructions below.

Second, once the participant has completed the on-line Level I class, they must register on-line (USA Archery web site) for a Level I Practical Course sanctioned and conducted by an Instructor Trainer. The Practical Course involves applying what has been learned in the on-line class on a range. Select the LHC Level I Practical Course at Sid Richardson Scout Ranch. USA Archery does not charge for selecting this class.

Third, participants must also register for the LHC Level I Practical class on the LHC training calendar registration page. The cost is $45. The May 14th Level 1 Practical Class will be conducted at the Sid Richardson Scout Ranch. The class will start at 8:00 am at the Archery Range. The Practical class itself is a busy, hands-on 4.5 hours plus. LHC USA Archery Level II Instructor Course---Canceled

This Level II course is appropriate for Scouters wanting to be BSA Camp Shooting Sports Directors, to work with USA Archery JOAD youth, or those seeking to become an USA Archery Instructor Trainer. This course does not allow the participant to sanction and host a Level I or Level II Practical. It does allow the person to register and complete the Instructor Trainer course for that purpose. Participants will be expected to have previously completed the Level I Certification and have archery experience.

The Course will start at 8:00 am at Sid Richardson Scout Ranch. The Level I Practical must be covered and will take 4.5 hours or more. We will break for lunch, and then begin the 4 hour plus Level II Practical. It will be a long day on the Archery Range.

First, the participant must have previously completed the USA Archery Level I certification (or have extensive archery experience with permission).

Second, the participant must register with USA Archery to take the Level II ON-LINE class. NOTE!! To register for this class, the participant must complete the U.S. Center for SafeSport training (their form of YPT), have completed an USA Archery Background Screen, and be a current USA Archery or National Field Archery Association member. Then the participant may register and completes the Level II (TWO) ON-LINE class. This takes approximately 4 hours and has an on-line exam. Cost is $50 payable to USA Archery.

Once the participant has completed the on-line Level II ON-LINE class, they must register on-line (USA Archery web site) for a Level II (TWO) Practical Course. The Practical Course involves applying what has been learned in the on-line class on a range. Select the Level II Practical class at SR2 on May 14th.

Third, participants must also register for the LHC Level II (TWO) Practical class on the LHC training calendar registration page. The cost is $40.
