 “Your standing as a Scout does not depend so much on the skills of your hands or the badges on your merit badge sash, as on the spirit in your heart. . . “This quote from the 6th edition of the Boy Scouts Handbook sums up the main purpose of the Camporee competition; that is, to test your Scout Spirit. Although Scouts will be challenged to demonstrate proficiency at Scout skills and knowledge, these are only half the challenges. You will also be observed for the patrol method, individual safety, cheerful attitudes, and obedience to leadership and proper respect for the senior Scouts and adults. You are being scored not only on how much you know but also how well you are living the Scout life. 

This camporee is not the type of event where you can focus on any one aspect of the competition and expect to win. Your Troop must put effort into every aspect of this event.
