OA High Adventure Trail Crew 2020

Event Details

Chisholm Trail-OA Trail Crew

The Order of the Arrow is offering you an opportunity to join other Arrowmen in cheerful service and the formation of lasting brotherhood on the trails and hills of the Texas High Adventure Base and its 15 miles of shoreline on Lake Bridgeport. Experienced Chisholm Trail staff members and Arrowmen will lead OA participants on the week-long trail crew and trek.

The program is a seven day experience. The first 3 days focus on trail conservation, construction, and maintenance under the guidance of experienced Arrowmen on the Chisholm Trail staff and the Camp Ranger. The second part is a 3-day Chisholm Trail Adventure trek. It’s a backpacking program, but you’ll use boats instead of boots. You get a pontoon boat to travel each day to the high adventure outposts and watersports bases on our camp’s 16 miles of Lake Bridgeport shoreline.

The trek ends with the Friday evening program and check out Saturday morning. The program is youth only and crews are lead by 18-21 year old
youth foremen. Participants must be at least 14 years old and a member of the OA.

You’ll do 3 or 4 of our high adventure outposts and watersports every afternoon. Plan to spend a lot of time on the water! Chisholm Trail participants will spend every afternoon at a watersports base and then drive their boat to a high adventure outpost at suppertime, staying until lunchtime the next day.

Outposts are U.S. Cavalry, Texas Rangers, Viking Ship and Medieval Combat, Drone Racing, Covert Ops, Climbing, Sporting Clays, and ATV Trail Riding.

Our staff will do their best to give your crew an outstanding high adventure experience!
