So, you are an adult and want to join the contingent? There are limited opportunities for adults on the Longhorn Council Contingent, if you want to be considered for one of the Contingent Leadership positions, please reach out to 2023Jamboree@longhorn.org and get connected with the dedicated volunteer leaders helping the contingent be successful.

It is an exciting time to be a Scout – see you at the SUMMIT for the 2023 National Jamboree!

What is a “Contingent” :  When attending the Jamboree we go as a Council not as an individual Troop or Venture Crew.  That being said Scouts and Venturers register individually so it doesn’t matter if you are the only one from your unit attending or if there are several others going as well.  The Longhorn Council will combine the youth participants into Troops or for Venturers, Crews depending on the youths registration.  The newly created Troop/Crew will have leaders that are selected by the Council Jamboree Committee and the Unit will then select the youth leadership.  All of the Troops and Crews that are formed from the Longhorn Council make up our Jamboree Contingent.  As you can imagine this is a great way to make new lifelong friendships.

Can my Troop or Crew just go on our own or plan a trip that includes attending the Jamboree:  No, all Jamboree participants must attend as part of their council contingent.

Youth Participant Requirements: Minimum of 12 years of age on or before the first day of the Jamboree.
