Friday Check-In: 5pm Until Complete
Events: The events would last no more than 45 minutes with a 15 minute transition time Round Robin sequence.
Topics are:
- First Aide
- Lashin
- Map & Compass
- Communication *may be semaphore or Morse code for extra points
- Emergency Action Drill
- Fire Building
Special Event: Dutch Oven Contest
Each unit provide Saturday evening Dutch Oven meal to be judged [Youth organized, prepared, and cooked].
Adults in unit provide Dutch Oven desert to be judged.
Planning for an OA Tap Out at Camp Fire.
Webelos and Arrow of Lights have the option to come on Saturday and stay for the campfire or camp the night before and stay for all events including the campfire.
The following events for the Webelos are:
Orienteering: Overview of compass and map reading
Knots: Review and demonstrate overhand, square knot, two half hitches, bowline, tautline hitch.
Review of Scouts BSA ranks and the symbolism of the scout rank.
At the end of the course time they will do an orienteering course around Tahuaya. Each scout or group of scouts will have a test sheet with the map points on it. At each map point the scout will either have to identify a scout rank by picture, a knot by use and picture, or identify the different parts of the scout emblem.
