2026 Longhorn Council National Jamboree Contingent

Jamboree is more than a destination. It’s the adventure of lifetime. And there is simply nothing else like it on the planet.

What’s a Jamboree? It’s not camp. National Jamboree is 360-degrees of fun, friends and fellowship with hands-on adventure that takes you places you never thought you’d go and challenge you to try things you never thought you could.

It’s the beginning of your own heroes’ journey that will challenge you to go farther than you ever thought possible. You’ll reach deeper and lift yourself higher to become the best version of yourself.

The next National Jamboree will be held at Summit Bechtel Reserve from July 22-31, 2026. More details can be found here: https://jamboree.scouting.org/

Your fee includes all travel, food, excitement, and SWAG that you will need for your trip. You will come back with a duffel full of memories to last a lifetime.

Participants: The 2026 National Jamboree will host approximately 20,000 Scouts BSA, Venturers, Sea Scouts, Explorers*, unit leaders, JST (Staff), and visitors.

To attend the National Jamboree, a Scout must:

  • Be a currently registered member of Scouting America in a Scouts BSA troop, Venturing Crew or Sea Scout Ship: If attending as a member of Scouts BSA, a Scout must be at least 12 years of age and no older than 17 years of age. If attending as a member of a Venturing Crew or Sea Scout Ship, a Scout must be at least 13 years old and have completed the eighth grade or is age 14 and not yet 21 years of age.

To attend the National Jamboree as a contingent adult leader, an adult must:

  • Be a currently registered member of Scouting America No less than 21 years of age Note: Assistant Scoutmasters aged 18-20 are encouraged to register for JST (Staff) or register and participate as a member of a Venturing Crew or Sea Scout Ship.

What is a “Contingent” :  When attending the Jamboree we go as a Council not as an individual Troop or Venture Crew.  That being said Scouts and Venturers register individually so it doesn’t matter if you are the only one from your unit attending or if there are several others going as well.  The Longhorn Council will combine the youth participants into Troops or for Venturers, Crews depending on the youths registration.  The newly created Troop/Crew will have leaders that are selected by the Council Jamboree Committee and the Unit will then select the youth leadership.  All of the Troops and Crews that are formed from the Longhorn Council make up our Jamboree Contingent.  As you can imagine this is a great way to make new lifelong friendships.
