Introduction to Leadership Skills (Troops) & Den Chief Training

Event Details

Arrowhead District is hosting DenChief & ILST (Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops) Training on 3/15 at St. Barnabas (Den Chief Training is from 8-12 & ILST is from 12:30-5). ***Den Chief Training is a requirement for all youth volunteering for Arrowhead District Cub Day Camp***

Scouts attending both sessions should bring a sack lunch.

Den Chief Training: Scouts wishing to become den chiefs take this course as part of their training to become a den chief. The course identifies den chief responsibilities and tasks, and describes the den chief’s relationship to the adult den leaders and how that relates to the den chief’s activities with the den.

ILST: The purpose of the ILST course is to teach Scouts with leadership positions about their new roles and how to most effectively reach success in that role. It is intended to help Scouts in leadership positions within their troop understand their responsibilities and to equip them with organizational and leadership skills to fulfill those responsibilities. ILST is the first course in the series of leadership training offered to Scouts. Completion of ILST is a prerequisite for Scouts to participate in the more advanced leadership courses National Youth Leadership Training (Twin Arrows NYLT) and the National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience (NAYLE).
