Join Longhorn Council at the 2026 GM Financial Parade of Lights!

Come celebrate the holiday season with Longhorn Council, Scouting America as we participate in the 2026 GM Financial Parade of Lights in downtown Fort Worth!

We have secured a parade entry and invite all Scouts, Scouters, families, alumni, and supporters to join us as we showcase the spirit of Scouting to thousands of spectators from across North Texas.

Date: Sunday, November 22, 2026

Parade Begins: 6:00 PM

Location: Downtown Fort Worth

The parade route begins at the intersection of Weatherford Street and Throckmorton Street, travels east on Weatherford, south on Commerce to 9th Street, west to Houston Street, north to 2nd Street, and then south on Throckmorton to 3rd Street where the parade concludes.

Participant Requirements

To help us comply with parade rules and create an unforgettable holiday display, please note the following:

• All participants must wear a Scout uniform, holiday attire, or costume appropriate for the event.
• Every participant is required to be illuminated with a minimum of 50 lights per person.
• Children must be at least 8 years old to walk in the parade.
• Children under age 8 may participate by riding a bicycle under adult supervision.
• All bicycle and motorcycle riders must follow applicable state and local helmet laws.
• Participants must keep moving forward throughout the parade route. Stopping, counter-marching, or creating gaps in the procession is not permitted.
• The parade takes place rain or shine unless dangerous weather conditions require cancellation.
• No handouts, candy, flyers, or giveaways of any kind are permitted.
• Any materials used as part of the entry must be fire-retardant and safe for public events.
