Camp Tahuaya Fishing Tournament 2026

Cast your line and join us for the Camp Tahuaya Fishing Tournament, a multi-session fishing experience perfect for anglers of all ages and skill levels. Each session features its own tournament with awards, hands-on instruction, and opportunities for Scouts to advance their outdoor skills. Whether you’re returning to Tahuaya or attending for the first time, this event continues a long tradition of outdoor fun, skill-building, and friendly competition.

Session Dates: Each session is a standalone tournament.

  • Saturday, January 17 | 6 AM – 4 PM
  • Sunday, January 18 | 6 AM – 4 PM
  • Monday, January 19 (MLK Day) | 6 AM – 4 PM
  • Saturday, January 24 | 6 AM – 4 PM
  • Sunday, January 25 | 6 AM – 4 PM

Registration Options

  • Scouting Registration – Camp Tahuaya Marketplace
    • $45 per fishing participant
    • $10 per non-fishing participant (youth or adult)
    • Includes overnight camping in a rustic campsite (bring your own tent)
    • Open to Scouting units only
    • Campsites assigned by camp staff
    • 70 fishing participant tickets available per session
    • Limit 6 trout per participant
    • Bring your own bait, hooks, and fishing gear
  • Public Registration or Scouting Registration – CampSpot
    • $40 per fishing participant
    • Must book lodging (Family Suite, Family Cabin, Canvas Wall Tent, or RV site)
    • Open to the public and Scouting families
    • 30 fishing participant tickets available per session
    • Limit 6 trout per participant
    • Bring your own bait, hooks, and fishing gear

Tournament Details

  • Each session includes three age divisions:
    • Elementary Age Youth (Grades K-5)
    • Older Youth (Grades 6-12)
    • Adults 
  • Awards Presented:
    • Largest Trout by Weight 
    • Largest Trout by Length 
    • Combined Weight (All Trout up to 6)
    • Smallest Fish
    • Largest Non-Trout Fish

Instruction and Program Opportunities

  • Camp staff will provide guidance on:
    • Fishing techniques and baiting
    • How to clean your fish
  • Scouting participants may also work on:
    • Fishing Merit Badge (Scouts BSA)
    • Fishing Adventure Requirements (Cub Scouts)
