The Good Ships Blue Star and Barracuda, symbols of our proud tradition, were the vessels of the first Scouts who charted their course to leadership excellence. Now, it's your turn to join the ranks of these legendary seafarers!

Aquatic School isn't just any program—it's a one-of-a-kind, exhilarating experience designed to challenge and empower Scouts aged 13-17. For over seven decades, it has served as the launching pad for Longhorn Council's finest instructors and leaders, shaping generations of trailblazers.

Get ready to embark on a journey of skill mastery and personal growth as you tackle a wide array of aquatic challenges, from Swimming and Lifesaving to Rowing, Canoeing, Kayaking, and even honing your Public Speaking skills. But that's not all—prepare to be transformed by the Four Goals of Aquatic School:

Leadership Development: Discover the leader within as you navigate the waters of teamwork and decision-making.

Skill Proficiency: Master essential aquatic skills that will serve you well both on and off the water.

Instructor Training: Learn not only how to excel but also how to inspire others as a aquatic instructor.

Time Management: Hone your ability to prioritize and organize, essential skills for success in any endeavor.

But the adventure doesn't end there! Scouts aged 15 and above have the opportunity to earn the prestigious BSA Lifeguard certification, becoming guardians of safety on land and sea. CPR is not offered during Aquatic School. Scouts 15+ should come with a current CPR certification card to be signed complete for BSA lifeguard.
