Check - in at Jesse Hall: 7:30am-8:30am
Opening Ceremony at Jesse Hall Auditorium: 8:30am-9am
Classes Begin: 9:30am - 12:30pm
Lunch: 12:30pm-1:30pm (Traditions Plaza)
Classes Resume: 1:30pm-4:30pm
Dismissal: 4:30pm
Parking is available at the Hitt Street Parking Structure, Turner Avenue Garage, & Conley Parking Garage

We are excited to announce the return of Mizzou MBU, November 6th, 2021. Join us and over a thousand Scouts from across the region for a day of learning and fun! Here you will find all the information you need regarding the merit badge course catalog, prequisites, & overnight-stay options. Merit badges will be offered on Saturday only. There will be a mixture of full-day and half-day merit badges. Please review the information below:
Registration deadline is Oct. 24th at 11:59pm.
Scout cost (all registrations include instruction, lunch, facilities, & a patch) - $25 per Scout
Adult cost - there is no cost for adults to attend. Adults can purchase a lunch and patch package for $10
Mizzou MBU 2021 Patch:
Be sure to pre-order an event t-shirt! Short-sleeve t-shirts are $15 each. Long-sleeve t-shirts are no longer available for order. Shirts will be pre-order only. You can order apparel in the registration.
Lunch: All Scouts will be provided lunch. Adults may purchase an optional lunch in the registration.
COVID-19 Policies: We will follow all University of Missouri policies. More information will be released before the event date.
Overnight Options: If units are interested in staying overnight, there are several campgrounds in the Columbia area including but not limited to: Rock Bridge Memorial State Park, Finger Lakes State Park, & Boone County Fairgrounds. Please make arrangements with your desired camping area.
Merit Badge Course Catalog & Prerequisites
Please view our course catalog (see attachments) for a full list of merit badges & their prerequisites. You can also download & print a course catalog at the link below. More badges may be added.
If there is a prerequisite listed, Scouts must complete the prerequisites before the day of the event and must either bring proof of completion to the class (i.e. the actual work which was completed/pre-requisites completed in the actual workbook and brought with them) or bring a signed prerequiste completion form (see attachments). If the Scout does not complete these prerequisites, he or she will not complete the badge and will receive a partial which will require follow up with a counselor after the event. Proof of having completed pre-requisite work WILL BE RETAINED by the counselors and kept with event records, so BE SURE to keep a copy for yourself beforehand.

Citizenship in the Society (3 classes) - New, merit badge that Scouts will be eligible to earn this fall. The badge will become Eagle-required beginning July 2022. Scouts will be eligible to earn this at the Mizzou MBU. However, requirements will be released pending the National rollout. Scouts will not complete this merit badge on the day of event. Some requirements will be completed after class.

Mizzou MBU Cancellation Policy:
Refund requests must be submitted prior to October 24th, 2021. If the refund is granted, a 25% readiness fee will be withheld. After October 24th, no refunds will be granted, no exceptions - other than for cancellation of a class. A unit leader, parent, or Scout may only request a refund of the fees under the following conditions:
1 - Illness or serious accident of the Scout prevents his or her attendance at the Merit Badge College.
2 - A family illness or an emergency prevents the Scout's attendance at the Merit Badge College.
