Certified Angling Instructor Course

Event Details

This is a Train the Trainer course that will give you the training necessary to deliver the BSA Fishing program to Scouts and to teach other leaders how to do the same.  Practical methods for teaching Fishing and Fly-Fishing Merit Badges and Cub Scout Adventures will be explored with hands on instruction in basic fishing, fly- fishing, fly-tying, knots, etc.

Your $60 Fee covers food, training materials, camp insurance, a cool patch, and personalized LOTOSR CAI Name tag.  For an additional $25 you can also purchase a Fly-tying kit to keep as your own.

No prior fishing experience is required, nor is any personal fishing equipment required to take the course. The CAI course is for scouters (volunteer & professional) who wish to learn how fishing enhances unit, district and council programs, and a must for current and potential Merit Badge Councilors. Scouts BSA (Star, Life or Eagle) and Venturers 15 years and older are welcome to participate in the CAI course.
