Innovation Quest – ORBOT Adventures

Get ready to spark curiosity, ignite creativity, and unleash the inventor within! Innovation Quest – Orbot Adventures is an exciting six-week journey where young creators transform big ideas into real-world inventions.

In this hands-on STEM experience, participants dive into the world of robotics and design as they build their very own DIY Orbot™—and then take it to the next level. Along the way, they’ll become designers, mechanics, engineers, artists, and even choreographers as they modify, test, and reimagine their creations through fun and engaging challenges.

Each session is packed with opportunities to explore, experiment, and problem-solve, helping students develop persistence, confidence, and critical thinking skills that go far beyond the classroom. Whether they’re knocking down towers, creating robotic art, or programming their bot to perform, every activity fuels imagination and innovation.

Set inside the dynamic Sinquefield Innovation Space, this program blends creativity with STEM learning, empowering young inventors to think boldly, collaborate, and discover what they’re capable of achieving.

Participants will meet for 90 minutes every Thursday from 5:30 - 7:00 PM for six weeks.

DIY Orbot™ Module

Our young Inventors build confidence and STEM competency while earning special certifications in a series of fun, hands-on challenges. They build their own personalized DIY Orbot to earn a Designer certification, take apart their bot to earn the title of Mechanic, transform their bot into a bot-dozer that knocks down towers to become a Construction Manager, and prepare their bot to play soccer, create art and perform a dance routine to become a Personal Trainer, Artist and Choreographer.

Curriculum Highlights

Creative Problem Solving: Overcoming a series of challenges to build confidence in their problem-solving abilities.
Persistence: Building persistence by completing a series of tasks with their robots.
Design Thinking: Exploring lessons in reverse engineering and the invention process.
