Lake of the Ozarks Merit Badge College 2026

Event Details

Join us May 15-17 for the 2026 Lake of the Ozarks Merit Badge College at the Lake of the Ozarks Scout Reservation! Here you will find all the information you need regarding the merit badge course catalog, pre-requisites, & camping options. Merit badges will be offered on both Saturday all day and Sunday half-day. Please review the information below:

Scout cost (all registrations include instruction, facilities, camping, & patch)

  • $40 per Scout (Saturday & Sunday) - includes lunch Saturday and a grab n' go snack Sunday
  • $27 per Scout (Saturday only) - includes lunch Saturday
  • $15 per Scout (Sunday only) - includes grab n' go snack Sunday 

Adult cost (all registrations include facilities, camping, & patch)

  • $20 per Adult (Saturday & Sunday) - includes lunch Saturday and a grab n' go snack Sunday
  • $12 per Adult (Saturday only) - includes lunch Saturday
  • $8 per Adult (Sunday only) - includes grab n' go snack Sunday

Be sure to order an optional event t-shirt! T-shirts are $20.00 each. T-Shirts will be pre-order only. Last Day to pre-order shirts is April 27th.  Purchase t-shirts in the registration.

T-Shirts will be available for Pick up at the Welcome Center after the Opening Ceremony through 11am, then after lunch until 4pm!

Directions to the Lake of the Ozarks Scout Reservation

Camping: Camping will be available Friday & Saturday evening.  Please indicate in the registration what nights you will be camping or if you will not be camping. Once registered, camp sites will be assigned. You will receive notification of your campsite during Check-in. If you have any questions, please contact Camp Director, Dennis Kerns at dennis.kerns@scouting.org.

Restrooms/Showerhouses: Restrooms and showerhouses are located at Show n' Do, Cherokee, Program Building, and the Welcome Center/Pool Area

Campfires: There are fire pits at each campsite.  In addition, there are fire barrels in each shelter. Units may bring their own firewood and charcoal.  You can also purchase charcoal. Please contact Dennis Kerns if you need to purchase charcoal.

Overnight Accomdations: If you are not planning on camping but would like to stay overnight, there are a few options available near camp:

1. Lake House Inn (closest to camp, 245 S Main St Laurie, MO 65038) - (573) 374-7744

2. Water's Edge Motel (about 20 minute drive from camp, 25587 MO-5, Gravois Mills, MO 65037) - (573) 372-2201

Meals: Lunch Saturday and a grab n' go snack Sunday are provided.  Units and attendees will need to provide other meals. Please bring cooking gear, etc. if applicable.

Trading Post: the Trading Post will be open! Get camping gear, t-shirts, snacks, and more!

Things to do: Adult, parents, & siblings are more than welcome to join their Scouts with their meirt badges.  If you are interested in hiking, we highly encourage you to hike the Kit Carson Trail. It is an 8 mile hike that will take you around the Lake of the Ozark Scout Reservation. Find more information below.

Merit Badge Catalog & Prerequisites

Please view our course catalog by clicking the attachment on this pàge. *More badges may be added prior to the event.

 If there is a prerequisite listed, Scouts must complete the prerequisites before the day of the event and must either bring proof of completion to the class (i.e. the actual work which was completed/pre-requisites completed in the actual workbook and brought with them) or bring a signed prerequiste completion form (see attachments).  If the Scout does not complete these prerequisites, he or she will not complete the badge and will receive a partial which will require follow up with a different counselor after the event.

Blue Cards:  There will be no physical blue cards issued at the completion of this event.  To access your blue cards after the completion of the event you will need to follow the below steps:

  1. Go back into your registration.  If you need to look up your registration just follow this link and click on the “Lookup” menu on the top right of the page.www.scoutingevent.com/653-LOTOSRMBC2025
  2. Each registration has its own list of available reports.  When you view your registration, click on the Reports tab to run the reports available for that event.
  3. This should bring up the blue cards for the scout or scouts you registered. * This will also provide you the option to export your individual blue cards into Scoutbook as well.

LOTOSR Merit Badge College Refund Policy


Event Coordinators reserve the right to postpone or cancel an event if registrations are insufficient to cover the event expenses up to five days prior to the event. If an event is postponed or canceled, the registrant will have an option to receive a full refund or transfer fees to a future or different event. 

In the event a participant or unit must cancel, you must inform GRC of your inability to attend no less than 7 days prior to the event. 

All refund requests must be submitted to the Council office via this online portal, or via the paper refund request form, no later than 7 days following the event
(The request must be made prior to unit check-out for summer camp requests). 

A unit leader, scout, or parent, may request a refund of fees under the following conditions only:
♦  Illness or serious accident prevents the scout from attending the event.
♦  Family illness or emergency prevents the scout from attending the event.
♦  The event has been canceled or postponed by the event coordinator.
♦  Other situations deemed permissible by the event coordinator.


If a refund is approved, a 25% readiness fee will be deducted.
Opting for the refund to be credited to your unit shop account (for GRC units only) will reduce the readiness fee to 15%.


The final approved amount is decided by the team.

Scouts Summer and Cub Resident Camps also have a non-refundable per person deposit, and any additional activity fees are non-refundable.
