Art Merit Badge Opportunity!

Earn the Art Merit Badge at the Museum of Art and Archaeology at the University of Missouri. 

Scouts will be treated to a docent led tour of the Museum’s Weinberg Gallery of Antiquities* and will complete all requirements to earn the Art Merit Badge. The course will be led by Museum Educator (and mom to an Eagle Scout!) Julie Chatman, and will include hands-on activities using a variety of materials. Scouts will take home with them a work of art they create for attaching to their Scout gear. There are no prerequisites to be completed before attending the class.

*Parents who register and attend with their scouts will also be treated to a free docent led tour of all the museum galleries.

The Day of the Event:

The Museum of Art and Archaeology is located in the lower level of Ellis Library on MU’s campus. Use the museum’s Lowry Mall entrance or the Hitt Street accessible entrance on the east side of the lower level of Ellis Library.
Metered parking is available on surrounding streets and in the Hitt Street Visitors Lot (between Ellis Library and the Student Center and Bookstore) and in the Memorial Union Visitors Lot (entrance off University Avenue).
Weekend parking is free in the Hitt Street and University Avenue parking structures.
