Quick Tip:
You don't have to be there to race or win, but it'd be great if someone could pick up your trophy and take some epic photos of themselves pretending to be you on the podium if you do!
RACES:
Get ready for the three races:
1. Sponsor Race (exclusive to event sponsors)
2. General Public Race (open to everyone)
3. Outlaw Race (also open to everyone).
We've got different awards lined up:
1. Classy plaques for the Sponsor Race
2. Shiny trophies for the General Public Race
3. Quirky junkyard trophies for the Outlaw Race.
It's going to be a wild ride!
CARS:
Looking to build a racing car? Whether you want a project with your kids or grandkids, to revisit your youth, or just really love woodwork, we've got you covered. Let's race to the workshop!
1. BUY- If you're not the DIY type, you can always take the easy route and buy a pre-built car online from sites like Etsy, Amazon, or other Pinewood Derby websites. No shame in skipping the elbow grease – it's all fair game in this competition!
2. BUILD- Obtain a DIY kit from various locations. The Book & Bean locally has stock to purchase. You can also search Google for multiple sites with stock available. Make it a family craft night!
3. BORROW- You can bring a car you built a while back, or borrow one from someone who has an extra. Sharing is caring, and we're all about that carpool karaoke life!
4. RENT- You can rent a car on-site for an extra $10. It's maybe not the prettiest car, and we've got a limited supply, so it's first come, first served. It's not a Lamborghini, but it meets the requirements and is ready to race. Just think of it as the underdog with a lot of heart!
