“Exploring New Depths of Leadership”

Seabadge is not about boating or nautical skills.  It is leadership and management training with a focus on guiding and enabling older youth to effectively run their units. While Seabadge was developed as an advanced leadership training program for Sea Scout adult leaders, the course is open to adult leaders of all Scouting America programs.

This is a virtual course held on Zoom over 2 weekends. You MUST attend all 4 sessions.

Each session will start at 9:00am and end at 3:00pm central time.

  • Saturday, March 29, 2025
  • Sunday, March 30, 2025
  • Saturday, April 5, 2025
  • Sunday, April 6, 2025

Seabadge Objectives:

  • Improve the understanding of leadership, management, and motivational skills among adult leaders
  • Provide management, leadership, and presentation skills and tools to adult leaders so that they may use and share them with others in their day-to-day Scouting activities
  • Use the skills and tools acquired at Seabadge to improve the quality of the Sea Scout program
  • Encourage the development of lifelong contacts and sharing of resources by and between course participants and staff

Participant Requirements:

  • Current registration as adult member of Scouting America
  • Completed Sea Scout Adult Basic Training (SSALBT), which is available at my.scouting.org and only takes about 90 minutes to complete
  • Have a tablet or computer with a screen large enough to view the materials being presented, a webcam and a stable internet connection
  • Participate in a minimum of 2 pre-course Crew meetings (via Zoom) to plan and prepare your Crew Project

Uniform:

Sea Scout participants should wear the Official Sea Scout Uniform as described in the Sea Scout Manual. Other Scouting America participants should wear the Official Uniform for their program.

Logbook:

Prior to the course, you will work with your Crew Advisor to develop your Logbook. The Logbook is a series of goals you will complete over 6-18 months after the course.

Your completion certificate and trident will be mailed to the address you register with after completing your logbook.
