2023 National Scout Jamboree

Event Details

No Registration Needed

There's only ONE National Jamboree.
Ten days. Hundreds of adventures. A once-in-a-lifetime experience.

BSA SUMMIT BECHTEL RESERVE, WV

Jamboree is a mountain-top experience – and at the heart of it all is what it means to truly be a Scout. Since 1937, National Jamborees have brought youth leaders together from all over the country and the world to share the bond that is Scouting. Jamboree is an adventure that will challenge you to go farther than you ever thought possible.  But you can. And you will.

The Chippewa Valley Council will be sending a contingent to National Jamboree.

Youth from across the Chippewa Valley Council will join as one troop to be a part of this historic event.

Itinerary & Dates:

Departure date: July 14, 2023
Return date: July 29, 2023

The Jamboree event runs July 19 - 28, 2023.

The Chippewa Valley Council Jamboree Committee is planning to travel by bus to the event. An itinerary is being developed, but we are hoping to tie our once-in-a-lifetime Jamboree experience in with a bus trip through several U.S. landmarks including Gettysburg and multiple days in Washington, DC. Our contingent will depart and return from the Eau Claire area.

FAQ's

I am a youth that would like to attend, how do I get signed up?

As of 4/1/2022 all spaces are filled, but we are starting a waiting list. If enough Scouts express interest by signing up for the waiting list, the Chippewa Valley Council will explore sending an additional troop to National Jamboree 2023. There is no cost to join our waiting list. Anybody that will be under the age of 21 before July 29, 2023 are considered youth participants.

I am just finding out about National Jamboree, why is there already a waiting list?

Scouts that registered to attend the Jamboree that was canceled in 2021 were given the first opportunity to attend with our council in 2023. In addition, we are only able to send 40 total people per troop, including our adult leadership.

I am adult that would like to attend, how do I get signed up?

You should register with our contingent today to be added to our waiting list. Please note that our adult leadership team has already been selected for our current Jamboree contingent, but if we are able to send an additional troop we will be looking for additional adults. Adult leadership is selected through an interview process. If additional adult spaces open up, you will be notified of the interview process.

Besides attending with our council's contingent, you can also join the Jamboree Service Team and be on staff for the event. Learn more at the Jamboree Service Team Website.

I saw that I can register directly with national to attend with my council, how does this work?

There is a registration site through the National Council. Registering through the National Council website does not guarantee that you are on the list for the Chippewa Valley Council's Jamboree contingent. You must be approved, and be paid following the payment schedule below in order to be approved. The National Council registration site is also where you can register to be a part of the Jamboree Service Team.

Once you are an approved member of our contingent, you will receive instructions directly on how to register through the National registration site.
