Information for Polar Adventure and Arctic Fox
What is the cost: The day is only $10 per Scout and or sibling(s), leader/parents only $5. Each family is also asked to bring non-perishable food items for a local food pantry. The cost includes a patch, a hot lunch and all activities. All Dens/Scouts MUST pre-register and payment to the Scout Service Center or via the online registrations system.
What about adult leadership: Each Den must have at least two adults/parents in attendance at this event. If a Scout is coming without their Den, a parent must be in attendance.
How to Arrive:
Dress appropriately for January in Wisconsin. Dressing in layers of polypropylene (Under Armor, etc.), fleece and wool clothing is recommended. These materials "wick" body moisture away from your skin. Dry is warmer. Proper attire might include: Warm jacket, outdoor fall sportswear, boots, extra socks, gloves (more than one pair), and stocking hat.
Important Notes Worth Mentioning Again:
- Remember you will need to dress very warm! Much time will be spent outdoors! You should wear: Heavy coat, snow pants, warm socks, knit hat, mittens/gloves and winter boots. Dress in layers and bring extra clothing in case of damp/wet/extra cold weather (If Cubs are not dressed appropriately they will not be able to participate in the outdoor activities).
- Polar Adventure and Arctic FOX will be held regardless of weather conditions with the exception of a weather warning for Barron County. Should this occur the event will be canceled.
- Please submit any Food Allergy needs 2 weeks prior to the event.
