Citizenship in the World Merit Badge Clinic

Event Details

Join us for the Citizenship in the World Merit Badge Clinic at the Milwaukee Scout Service Center (330 S. 84 St., Milwaukee), Room 204 on Sunday, December 7, 2025.  The clinic will begin at 1:00 pm.

Scouts explore what it means to be a member of the global community while working on the Citizenship in the World badge. They learn about international law and international organizations such as the United Nations, the World Health Organization, and the European Union. Scouts also find out about relationships between nations and the role of the US State Department and ambassadors.

The Citizenship in the World badge is required for the rank of Eagle Scout.

This badge involves a lot of work done in advance by the Scout.  The workshop is intended to provide an opportunity to present on or discuss this work.  Scouts who have not done the work in advance will get a partial; Scouts who come with the following should be able to earn the badge that day.  Scouts must have approval of Scoutmaster to attend and bring a blue card. Scouts must be 13 years old or First Class Rank. In addition, Scouts should come prepared with the following:

Prerequisites:

Each Scout should bring:

  1. Notebook and pen.
  2. Their print-out of the "Citizenship-in-the-World" worksheet if they choose to use it.
  3. If choosing to complete requirement 4(b) the Scout should list their sources used.
  4. If choosing to complete requirement 7(a) the Scout should be prepared to show evidence of visiting the U.S. Department of State web-site https://www.state.gov
  5. If choosing to complete requirement 7(b) the Scout should be prepared to show the story used (print-out, screen shot, digital photo, or scan acceptable)
  6. If choosing to complete requirement 7(c) the Scout should document and provide evidence of visiting with a foreign student or Scout.
  7. If choosing to complete requirement 7(d) the Scout must provide evidence of attendance at a world jamboree.
  8. If choosing to complete requirement 7(e) the Scout should document and provide evidence of attending an international event.
