Cub Scout STEM Morning

Event Details

Please join us for Cub Scout STEM Morning at Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE).  This program will introduce Cub Scouts to STEM activities and not based on advancement.  Instructors are MSOE employees.  There will be two programs to choose from based on rank. Space is limited.

Program 1
Wolf & Bears (2nd-3rd grade) - Cool Puppy!

Students will apply the Engineering Design Process to create doghouses that shelter a puppy from the heat. The design constraints include temperature, size, and cost. Students build their prototype and test them by taking thermometer readings under hot lamps

Program 2
Webelos & AOL (4th-5th grade) - Crash Test Cars

Students will apply the Engineering Design Process to create safety features on a model car. The prototype must keep a passenger safe by making the force of impact as low as possible. Students will take measurements on a force plate and continuously work to improve their design.
