Gathering Waters Webelos Pin Day & Adult Leader Training

Event Details

Calling all Webelos/Arrow of Light Scouts! Webelos Pin Day will be held on Saturday, November 4th, 2023 from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM at the Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC), 1825 N. Bluemound Dr in Appleton. The cost of the event is $30 per Scout (with lunch), if registering after 10/29/23, the cost is $25 but doesn't include a lunch. Pins will be taught by some of our local Scouts BSA Troops. Available Pins are listed below.

Scouts can earn up to three pins, taking one Pin per session. Session 1 will be 8:15am-9:55am, Session 2 will be 10:00am-11:40am, and Session 3 will be 12:50-2:30pm.  A lunch break will be from 11:45am-12:45pm.  Pre-registration is required, youth will NOT be allowed to sign up for classes on the day of the event. Each pin is limited to 25-30 youth per session. Dens are encouraged to register as a group, to ensure that they can take pins together.

There will be a “Meet the Troops” event happening at lunch where many Gathering Waters Scouts BSA Troops will have a display table set up.  Webelos/Arrow of Light scouts and their parents are encouraged to interact with the troops to help them see how they do scouting at the next level. Even if you do not sign up for Pin Day, you are welcome to come in and meet the troops from 11:45-12:45pm.

Adults will also have an opportunity to attend a “Webelos to Scouts BSA Transition” presentation from 8am-9am in the FVTC Commons/Lunch room area.  There will also be a free Cub Scout Leader Training available through out the day (make sure to sign up for this in the link) and many other leader training classes will be offered (see below).  Adults should NOT expect to attend the Adventure Pins with their scout and can plan to pick up their scout at the end of their last session, in the commons/lunchroom area.  Please have your scout bring a water bottle with them and mark their name on it somewhere as well.

Check-in will be from 7:15am-7:45am in the FVTC Commons/Cafeteria area, so plan to attend at that time, so everyone is ready to go by 8:00 am for the opening flag ceremony.
