Experience Whitewater in a Weekend!

Come to experience some of the best Whitewater Park in Wisconsin at Wausau Whitewater Park.  Open to all BSA Scouts/Scouters 13 and up, parents, and leaders.

This introduction class is designated for anyone who has always wanted to try whitewater kayaking. The class begins indoors with basic safety instructions and then moves to the water.    A team of certified instructors will assist you with outfitting your gear.  Once outfitted, you will start your experience in the pond, on flat water, learning various rescues and paddle strokes, and building your confidence in whitewater boats.     Here you will learn how to avoid rocks and what to do if you hit a rock, ferrying and turning (peelouts).  You can run the entire course and even run the full course in a duo with a professional paddler.

Be ready to get wet. Scouts need to be a minimum of 13 years of age, have the BSA swimmer classification, and have a completed Medical form. 

Please complete and bring the following waivers with you: 

• Wausau Whitewater Waiver
• ACA Waiver
