WI Herd Future Fan Experience Challenge

Event Details

The Wisconsin Herd Future Fan Experience Challenge will be held on Saturday, 2/21/26 from 1-3pm at the Boys & Girls Club in Oshkosh. This is a FREE 90-minute, project-based STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) session that invites Scouts to step into the role of professional sports innovators. Working in teams, students design and prototype the next-generation fan experience for Wisconsin Herd games—combining creativity, systems thinking, and real-world problem solving.

Using materials provided, participants create and pitch concepts that improve how fans arrive, engage, interact, share, and return to Herd games. The session culminates in a Shark Tank–style pitch competition, judged by program leaders and team representatives.

This is open to all youth, but the activities offered would be more geared for 5th-12th grade students.

The location is the Hyde Family Community Center at the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh, 545 Monroe Street, enter Door 11.

For everyone that attends this Herd challenge event, you will receive a FREE ticket to the WI Herd game that evening vs the Greensboro Swarm, on 2/21/26, which includes early entry access from 5:00pm-5:30pm at Gate A at the Oshkosh Arena, 1212 S Main St in Oshkosh. Normal doors open time is 6:00pm with the game starting at 7:00pm.

In addition to the above event, an NBA G League Referee Clinic will be held on this Saturday, 2/21/26, starting at 5:00 PM, before the game at the Oshkosh Arena (enter Gate A). This clinic is designed for current referees, but would give some great insight to any older Scouts that may be interested in refereeing or the sport.  This clinic is designed to provide insight into the NBA G League officiating program, its development pathway, and the tools used to evaluate and train referees at the professional level. This is an educational opportunity and is open to anyone who wants to learn more about the league’s structure, expectations, and development process. Any youth interested in sports and pursuing sporting careers should attend this event.  Referees are in shortage and refereeing can be a very rewarding career while keeping the sport alive while interacting with players and professionals.

There are 25 spots available for the Referee Clinic, if you’d like to attend this event, please register in this registration link for free. To receive your free Herd game tickets, you must attend the Herd Challenge event at the Boys & Girls Club (tickets will be handed out there).
