2025 Cub Scout Summer Camp - Camp Rokilio

Event Details

Join us for the Cub Scout Survivor Camp!

Camp Rokilio provides a GREAT 3 night / 4 day* OUTDOOR ADVENTURE for Cub Scouts, their trusted adults, and leaders on 213 beautiful acres of hilly terrain with tall timber located in the Kettle Moraine, seven miles east of Kiel, Wisconsin!  Accommodations include a stay in 1 of the 4 theme buildings; Fort J.J. Keller, Gunderson Viking Bäten Ship, Kohler Castle, and Oertle Train Station. Each building has electricity, water, flush toilets, showers, kitchen, and sleeping quarters with bunk beds for both adults and youth.

The program consists of waterfront, shooting sports (BB Guns/Archery), Nature, Campfires, Chapel, theme related projects and activities, as well as, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) activities and NOVA awards. Registration includes a commemorative patch for everyone attending.

Cub Scouts, their parents, and leaders can choose a session that fits into their schedule. Packs are encouraged to attend camp as a Unit, but any youth can attend one of the three provisional sessions with a parent or other legal guardian (sessions 2, 3, and 5). All youth in attendance must be registered members of a Cub Scout Pack, First Grade through Fifth Grade. No youth, age 10 or older who have crossed over into a Scouts BSA Troop are permitted to camp with the Cub Scouts except for Registered Den Chiefs.  Adults who are not the Cub Scout’s parent or legal guardian may attend summer camp with them but must first become a registered adult leader within the same pack, and complete their Youth Protection Training and background check prior to attending camp. All sessions at Camp Rokilio will be open to Tigers through Webelos in the Pack. Webelos and Arrow of Lights activities will be depend on how many Webelos/AOLs are in camp during a given session.

If you are looking for Webelos programming specifically designed as a preparatory program for Scouts BSA, please consider attending a session at Gardner Dam Adventure Base as well this summer!

Provisional Sessions are available for sessions 2,3,5. To learn more about provisional camping please visit: https://baylakescamps.org/provisional-camping/

Notes on different payment and booking options:
Your Register Contact person with your Pack can choose to partially book campers (both youths and adults) but then set up Parent Portal for parents and adult campers to finish booking their kids or themselves. This is the reccommended practice. The spots held by the partial booking, set up by your Pack's Register Contact, are only held for 14 days (two weeks). This ensures that Packs are not reserving limited spots beyond what is actually required and thereby inadvertently blocking others from attending camp. The Register Contact will run a report which generates Parent Portal credentials for each camper they partially book, and share those credentials with the unit parents to use to finish booking and paying for their scouts. The most common option is for the Registered Contact person to pay for everyone's registration fees using a unit-owned checking account or credit card; then collecting funds from families. This is not reccommended as it can create issues wherein units may have a difficult time collecting all the fees from all the families. The least reccommended option is that the Registered Contact uses their own payment method to complete the bookings and then is reimbursed by the Unit Treasurer. While often the easiest method, the Registered Contact is taking on a lot of risk.

PLEASE NOTE: There is no way to directly pay for camp via a scout's Scout Account in Scoutbook. Council has no access to units' Scoutbook accounts. Your unit's Treasurer can reimburse parents for costs incurred via Parent Portal from a scout's Scout Account, but it cannot be directly applied towards registration fees on this system (BlackPug 24/7 Scouting).

*Regarding the Schedule Change: Historically, Cub Scout World at Camp Rokilio (Cub Scout Summer Camp) was 4-days/3-nights, or approximately 68 hours long; with packs arriving no earlier than 1:00 PM on Day #1 of a session and departing no later than 11:00 AM on Day #4 of a session. A few years ago, the Council made the switch to the shorter 3-day/2-night schedule (approximately 50 hours long) with the hope to both save money and to reduce the number of days parents/leaders had to take off work. While we saved some money (less staff compensation, less meals, less program supplies) and did in fact see a very small increase in the number of parents attending, we also saw fewer Cub Scouts returning from year-to-year (this is adjusted to account for 4th & 5th graders going to GDAB), and lower parent/leader satisfaction scores. Much of the feedback we’ve consistently received from leaders and parents since the change, is that we’re attempting to cram a lot of quality programming into too few days. Additionally, with less than two full program days to schedule activities and programming, inclement weather on one or more of those days within the shorter schedule can significantly impact the Cub Scouts’ chances to participate in the many fun outdoor activities of camp. Extending the schedule back to the traditional two full program days (with approximately 11 hours each on arrival/departure days), increases the likelihood that the Cub Scouts will have enough opportunities to make awesome memories despite a day or two of bad weather. We need the youth to create those memories, so they want to keep coming back to our camps!  Retaining campers is imperative to membership retention and maintaining properties. Rest assured, we did not take this decision lightly as we want to be the best stewards of our programs and properties as we possibly can. With partial parent pricing available, families which decide that their young Scouts won’t last the full session, can choose to leave on Day #3 of a session if they want/need to. While we encourage families to plan to attend a full session, we understand that families need to make the choices that are best for them.
