Gathering Waters Webelos Pin Day & Adult Leader Training

Event Details

Calling all Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts! Webelos Pin Day will be held on Saturday, November 2nd, 2024 from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM at the Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC), 1825 N. Bluemound Dr in Appleton. The cost of the event is $30 per Scout, which includes a box lunch.  If registering after 10/27/24, no lunch will be included, as we need to get our lunch counts in by 10/27, in order to have enough food ready.  Pins will be taught by some of our local Scouts BSA Troops. Available Pins are listed below.

Scouts can earn up to three Pins, taking one Pin per session. Session 1 will be 8:15am-9:55am, Session 2 will be 10:00am-11:40am, and Session 3 will be 12:50-2:30pm.  A lunch break will be from 11:45am-12:45pm.  Pre-registration is required, youth will NOT be allowed to sign up for classes on the day of the event. Each pin is limited to 25-30 youth per session. Dens are encouraged to register as a group, to ensure that they can take pins together.  Pins will not be awarded at this event, scouts will have to communicate completion of pins to their unit advancement chair or Cubmaster.

There will be a “Meet the Troops” event happening at lunch in the commons area, where many Gathering Waters Scouts BSA Troops will have a display table set up.  Webelos/Arrow of Light scouts and their parents are encouraged to interact with the troops to help them see how they do scouting at the next level. Even if you do not sign up for Pin Day, you are welcome to come in and meet the troops from 11:45am-12:45pm.

Adults will also have an opportunity to attend a “Webelos to Scouts BSA Transition” presentation from 8:00am-9:00am in room C190A and be able to attend adult leader training sessions throughout the day (sign up in the Pin Day registration).  There will also be other Cub Scout Leader Training available throughout the day, with the Cub College event. See this link for more info on the Cub College adult training offerings. https://scoutingevent.com/635-CubCollege

Adults should NOT expect to attend the Adventure Pins with their scout and can plan to pick up their scout at the end of their last session, in room C190A at 2:30pm.  Please have your scout bring a water bottle with them and mark their name on it somewhere as well.

Check-in will be from 7:15am-7:45am in room C190 (enter through door 15), so plan to attend at that time, so everyone is ready to go by 8:00 am for the opening flag ceremony. This opening meeting location is different than in year's past.
