Bay-Lakes Council supports the long tradition of safe, ethical and responsible firearm use within Scouting. Range and Target Activities within Scouting America have been, and will continue to be an integral part the camping experience at our Bay-Lakes Council Camps.

Please join us at the Oertle Range Complex at Bear Paw Scout Camp to obtain basic firearm training for pistols (09/28/24), rifles (10/12/24), and shotguns (11/09/24).

Each of these courses will be taught by NRA Chief Range Safety Officer and Certified Instructor, John Techmeier who will be assisted by other NRA certified instructors. 

Things to Bring:

• A Great Ready-to-Learn Attitude
• A Bag Lunch
• Water Bottle (or other non-alcholic beverage)
• Pen and Paper
• Personal Ear and Eye Protection (we'll provide it if you don't have your own)

Please DO NOT Bring Privately Owned Firearms (as of 09/01/2024, BSA rules do not allow privately owned firearms on BSA properties - We will provide all necessary firearms needed for training)   

Range Safety Officer training is also available for adults (21+) on November 16th at the Center for Scouting, in Appleton, WI.
