FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Life Scouts
Should I wear my uniform? Field uniform (button-down shirt) is encouraged, but not required.
Should I bring my parents? Yes, it is encouraged that one parent attend.
Does my Scoutmaster need to be there? All are welcome. If your Scoutmaster is seasoned and knowledgeable of the process, they do not need to attend. If they are a new leader, it would be helpful for them to learn the process.
Is Eagle Mentor the same as Eagle Coach? Technically, the Eagle Mentor is the one that works with the Scout at the unit level throughout all of the requirements. The Eagle Coach is the one that works with the Scout once they begin the Eagle Scout Service Project process. That being said, in some units, this is the same individual.
Do I need to know my project? No, you do not need to know what your project will be to attend this training.
Should I attend if my project is already approved? It might be helpful for you to attend so you have a better understanding of the entire process and get answers to any questions you may have.
Parents
May I bring my younger children, including non-Scouting children? It is discouraged to bring younger children as they will need to sit through three hours of training. It will be your responsibility to keep them entertained. There is also a concern of space in the facility to have them there as well.
