Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Leader Specific Training

Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, Troop Committee Members, and Scouts BSA Parents are all encouraged to participate. This leader specific training concentrates on Troop operations while using the Patrol Method. This training is commonly referred to as the ‘Indoor Session’.

The Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters are considered trained upon completion of this course, along with Introduction of Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS), Youth Protection Training and Hazardous Weather.

The district training committee recommends that you complete Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Leader Specific indoor training before taking Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS).

There is no charge for the ‘indoor’ session.

Things to bring: bag lunch/snack & drink (morning refreshments may be available), Scoutmaster Handbook, Scout Handbook, paper & pen for taking notes and an eagerness to participate.
