Ledge to Lakes Corporate Blastcar Derby

The Ledge to Lakes District Corporate Blastcar Rally proudly supports the mission and services we provide for our district youth.

to support our young Scouts and future leaders!

Businesses can register at the following sponsorship levels and create their own teams within:

• 2 Cars: $300
• 4 Cars: $500
• 10 Cars: $1,000

The Ledge to Lakes District will provide the CO2 cartridges needed for the race day.

BSA Blastcar Rules:

• Blastcar Construction: The Blastcar Rules state that the car must be built from the materials in the Official Boy Scouts of America Blastcar Kit. Only official BSA Blastcar axles and wheels may be used. Additional weight may be added to the car. Decorative items may be added to the car. Blastcars built in previous years are not allowed. A new car is to be built from the Official BSA Blastcar kit.
• Blastcar Dimensions: The total overall length must not exceed 10˝. The eyelets must have ¼˝ clearance to the course surface.
• Blastcar Weight: The total weight of the Blastcar without the CO2 cartridge must be no less than 5 oz. Any added weight must be solid in form and everything must be firmly attached to the racer. Liquid or moveable weight is not allowed.
• Blastcar Rules Axle Placement: The axles may be placed anywhere on the Blastcar body. No wheelbase restrictions.
• Blastcar Lubrication: Only graphite or other dry lubricants are permitted. Oils or liquids are not allowed. Blastcar rules allows the Scout to re-lubricate the car between heats and in the designated areas.
• Items Not Allowed: Springs, bushings, wheel bearings and washers are not permitted. The Blastcar must be freewheeling with no type of propulsion other than a single CO2 cartridge.
• Blastcar Inspection: Each Blastcar must pass the pre-race inspection by the event judge on the day of or the evening prior to the event. The judge has the right to disqualify any car that does not meet the outlined criteria. Cars are checked in, given a race number, and entered on the heat schedule.
• Blastcar Event Attendance: The participant must be present at the location of the event to enter his or her Blastcar in the event. Each participant is responsible for placing his or her car on the race line if in person event is possible, inserting the CO2 canister, and then backing his or her car into the launcher.
• Blastcar Rules Sportsmanship: Blastcar rules are established to create a fun and sportsmanlike environment. Poor sportsmanship will result in disqualification of the participant. Participants are expected to be dignified whether winning or losing.
