Event Details

This Camporee will provide Units and Scouts from Webelos to High Adventure the opportunity to camp and participate in age-appropriate programming and provide three meals Saturday prepared and distributed through Gardner Dam's new dining facility.

Units will be assigned to a specific camp site pod and Scouts must register for a specific program to attend this event. Scouts will spend the entire day with the same classmates moving as a group to assigned program areas on a set schedule.

Programing will include:

Whitewater High adventure. 30 students 14 or older

Whitewater kayaking on the Wolf River will be held at this camporee. All equipment, adult supervision and instruction is provided for this weekend event. This program requires pre-registration and an additional $10 fee to the normal camporee fee.  This is a day and a half program.  You must be a swimmer and 14 years old.  Adults are welcomed and encouraged.  No prior experience is necessary, and participants are placed in ability groups with one instructor for each five students. This program ends at 2pm on Sunday. 

 

Emergency Preparedness Merit Badge   100 Students 4 groups of 25. Prerequisites apply. 

Prerequisites Each scout participating in the merit badge portion of the weekend will need to complete portions of the Emergency Preparedness Merit Badge Workbook found at www.meritbadge.org. This document will be used to track the scouts progress throughout the day. Please check the course catalog for pre-requisites. 

 

First Aid Merit Badge 50 Students 2 groups of 25. Prerequisites apply. Instructors needed.

 

Eco-con and Handicraft Merit Badges. This include Art, Woodcarving, and Nature Merit Badge. 32 Students 2 groups of 16. Pre-requisites for Nature Merit Badge are 2 of the following 4a, c, d, e, or f

Flight Program. 50 students 2 groups of 25. Intended for 1st and 2nd year scouts. Climbing and COPE, shooting range rifle and archery, tool and fire safety, and First Aid. Climbing and safety instruction will be provided for 1.25 hours of fun and action of climbing, rappelling and bouldering. Range safety and instruction will be provided followed by an opportunity to target practice on the rifle and archery range. Totin' Chip and Firem'n Chit along with Bow saw and Ax safety will be taught followed by hand on practice. Basic first aid, choking and introduction to CPR with hands on practice with Bandaging, Choking Charlie, and a CPR mannequin. Along with Tenderfoot, Second class, and First Class first aid advancement requirements.

 

Webelos Program 32 students 2 groups of 16. Intended for Webelos and AOL’s. Climbing and COPE, shooting range BB and archery, tool and fire safety, and First Aid. Climbing and safety instruction will be provided for 1.25 hours of fun and excitement on our climbing and bouldering walls. Range safety and instruction will be provided followed by an opportunity to target practice on the BB and archery range. Whittling Chip and Firem'n Chip along with Bow saw and Ax safety will be taught followed by hand on practice. Basic first aid, choking and introduction to CPR with hands on practice with Bandaging, Choking Charlie, and a CPR mannequin.
