This is a two day training. No overnight accommodations or food are provided. Participants must arrange their own transportation and lodging.
Prerequisite: Must be an NRA Certified Range Safety Officer. Course is presented in two parts: Basic Instructor Training and NRA Chief Range Safety Officer training. Session include standard operating procedures, inspections, emergency procedures, firearm stoppages and malfunctions and safety briefings. Students demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises and complete an open book exam.
Basic Instructor Training is part one of ALL NRA Instructor level classes and must be retaken if completed more than two years prior.
If you have never taken BIT, or it was more than two years ago, sign up for both days. If you only need BIT for one of the other instructor sessions in Mar, Apr or May, just sign up for that. If you have BIT in the past two years and would like just CRSO, sign up for that.
Bring a bag lunch both days. Bring pen and note paper. Bring a great attitude for learning. Please don't bring any firearms! Thanks.
