NRA Instructor Shotgun Shooting Course
$50/participant. Sign-up deadline is Apr 1.
This is a one day training. No overnight accommodations or food are provided. Participants must arrange their own transportation and lodging.
Prerequisite: Must have completed NRA Basic Shotgun Shooting Course. Possession of basic fireaarm safety skills is also a prerequisite for certification as an NRA instructor. Prior to the instructor training, candidates complete a pre-course questionnaire and demonstrate their firearm background in pre-course assessment exercises.
Students demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises during the course, and complete an instructor certification examination.
Basic Instructor Training (BIT) is part one of ALL NRA Instructor level classes and must be retaken if completed more than two years prior. If you have never taken BIT, or it was more than two years ago, sign up for one of the BIT opportunities on Feb 7 @ Center for Scouting or Mar 7 @ BPSC.
Please print the Instructor pre-course questionnaire and fill it out as completely as you can. Also print the Shotgun Instructor pre-course qualification and write your name on it. Bring both to class with you.
Bring a bag lunch and water bottle, as food will not be provided. Bring pen and note paper. Bring a great attitude for learning. Please do not bring any firearms! Thanks.
