OWL: Outdoor Leader Skills for Webelos Leaders

Welcome to Fall OWL training. Camping is a cornerstone of the WEBELOS Scout program. We appreciate your willingness to take time out of your busy lives to provide your boys with memorable camping experiences. We are looking forward to providing you with a weekend filled with fun, uplifting, and valuable training. This training will give you hands-on learning experience as you emulate a WEBELOS Scout.

Cost per adult is only $35 and registration closes on August 15th, so click on the link and reserve your spot today!

Training will be at Camp Indian Trails just northwest of Janesville along the Rock River on the edge of historic Blackhawk County. For directions to the camp, please call the council office or visit the following link: http://www.glaciersedge.org/camping/cit/directions-to-cit/. Please be prepared for whatever weather we may encounter. Most sessions will be held outdoors, so dress appropriately. In case of severe weather, indoor facilities are available.

A completed Medical Form (Part A and B) is required for each participant at registration on Saturday. Forms are available from the Council Service Centers or can be found at the following link:  http://www.scouting.org/filestore/HealthSafety/pdf/680-001_ABC.pdf.

Registrations begins at 8:00 a.m. and time will be allocated on Saturday during the program for tent set-up. All participants will be required to sleep in tents on Saturday. Please contact Joy Taylor-Wade if you need special accommodations due to health reasons.

If you are coming from a farther distance, you may arrive on Friday between 6:00 and 9:00 p.m. and spend the night with OWL staff at camp. Please let us know if you plan on arriving early and an approximate time of arrival. We will have a Cracker Barrel around 8:00 p.m. and breakfast on Saturday will be from 7:00 - 8:00 a.m.

Registrants should wear their Field Uniform (scout shirt and pants/shorts) throughout the training. If you don’t own one, please wear a scout related T-shirt.

Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions or special dietary needs. We can arrange for you to bring your own foods and we will do our best to accommodate you.
