Council Swim Check

Glacier’s Edge Council will be offering summer camp swim checks for youth and adults this spring at the following dates, locations and times.

• Sunday, April 2, Sun Prairie East High School, 1-3pm.  888 Grove Street, Sun Prairie
• Sunday, April 16, Middleton High School, 12-2pm.  2100 Bristol Street, Middleton
• Sunday, April 23, Verona Natatorium, 1-3pm.  400B N Main Street, Verona
• Sunday, April 30, Janesville Craig High School, 1-2pm.  401 Randall Ave. Janesville

The swim test consists of the following:

• Jump feetfirst into water over the head in depth.
• Level off and swim 75 yards in a strong manner using one or more of the following strokes:
  • sidestroke 
  • breaststroke 
  • trudgen 
  • crawl
•  swim 25 yards using an easy resting backstroke.
• The 100 yards must be completed in one swim without stops and must include at least one sharp turn.
• After completing the swim, rest by floating.

Each person that successfully completes the Swimmer’s test will have their name recorded on a Swim Classification Form.  Here is a link to this form:
