NRA Basic Muzzeloading  Course at EBSR

Course Description:

The NRA Basic Muzzleloading Course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a muzzleloading rifle, pistol, and shotgun. Student will work with in-line, percussion, and flintlock muzzle loading firearms. It is recommended that persons attending this class are comfortable handling and safely using firearms. This class should not be taken by people who are new to shootings sports. An NRA basic rifle class is a better choice for new shooters.

More Details:

The course is aproximately 12 hours in length and includes classroom instruction and time on a range shooting a muzzleloading rifle, shotgun, and pistol. Students learn the NRA’s three rules for safe gun handling; parts; loading; shooting; cleaning; and continued opportunities for skill development. Student will shoot rifles, pistols, and shotgun from a standing position. Participants will also shoot rifles from crossed stick and prone positions Attendance and participation in this training does not guarantee your completion of the courses. Students must show proper knowledge, skills, and attitude, by passing both a written exam AND practical shooting qualification.  Those who pass this class will be qualified to become NRA Basic Muzzleloading Instructor Candidates.

Students will receive the Muzzleloading Rifle Handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Muzzleloading Student Examination, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, course completion certificate.

Open to Scouters 18 years of age and older

September 16 and 177 at Ed Bryant Scout reservation.

Cost:

Registered Scouters $125, pay by check or cash at check-in on site
Fee includes course materials, cost of ammunition, food and overnight lodging at EBSR.
There will be an additional $10 charge for people wishing to arrive Friday evening 10/28
