NRA Basic Pistol Course
This is a pre-requisite for the NRA Pistol Instructor Course.

Course Information:

This course includes classroom and range time learning how to shoot Pistols. It will be run as a 2 session course with the classroom portion being held at the Wall Family Scout Service Center and the live fire range portion being held the following Sunday afternoon. In the course Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety. Additionally, students will complete live fire training and nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with NRA certified Instructor. Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, take the Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination and receive a course completion certificate.

Open to registered Scouters 21 years of age and older.

When:

Classroom: Thursday March 2, 5:30 to 9:30 pm
Range live fire: Sunday March 5, 1:00 to 5:00 pm

Note: Location may change due to weather forecast.

Registration fee: (includes student packet, refreshments,.22 ammunition and use of a 22 semi-automatic pistol or revolver. Students may bring their own pistol and ammunition for this course).

Registered BSA Scout Leaders $40.
